About the Blog

You know that old saying, ‘laughter is infectious’? I feel that is also true for passion. Sometimes, I’ll be discussing a topic with a friend and their passion for the subject will radiate from their words. Often, without even realizing it, I’ll find myself in the throes of an exhilarating discussion centering around a subject that I otherwise didn’t give much thought. I thrive off of these types of conversations and just as much as I enjoy learning about the things my friends are passionate about, I love to share my passions and find ways to relate the things I care about to their lives. Perhaps you’ve never given much thought to subjects such as urban development, architecture, real estate finance, historic preservation, affordable housing or sustainable design. But I assure you, these topics do play a role in your day-to-day lives.

The purpose of this blog is two-fold; first, it’s a place for me to express my opinions and share my adventures. From discussing my opinion on the future of preservation, to my favorite Minnesota History Center exhibits or exploring the new craft-brewery trend in the Twin Cities. This blog is meant to highlight the things I like best about being a Minnesotan. Its second purpose is meant to inspire and invoke thought. I hope that you’ll read my posts and think about how these topics relate to your life and what you can do to become an active citizen, wherever you may live. Our cities are going to grow and change whether we want them to or not – we might as well take part in the discussion. This is my attempt to do just that.

Couple of notes:

The majority of the photos shared on this blog are taken by me – please refrain from copying them or reproducing them in any way.

It seems a little ridiculous to have to state this, but based on recent events I feel it is important I make one thing clear: opinions and viewpoints expressed on this blog are my own. They should in no way be affiliated with the organizations, companies or people that I may mention in my posts. I started this blog as an outlet for my opinions – please view it as just that and nothing more.

I have a great tipi which is of significant historical importance. If you like, I can put it up for a photo op. The view of a tipi at night, lit up internally by a camp fire within, is quite a sight to behold.
